Founded in 1960, The Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (also known as RUDN) is a multidisciplinary state university renowned for its diverse international student body. RUDN's mission is to unite people from different cultures through knowledge, fostering global leaders who strive to make the world a better place.
The II International Media Forum for Young Russian-African Practitioners, aimed at fostering information cooperation between Russia and Africa, is taking place in Moscow on November 21-22 at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, named after Patrice Lumumba (RUDN). Bringing together media professionals, academics and students, the forum addresses media literacy, combating disinformation, and international youth collaboration.
The event featured honorary guests—young journalism and media education experts selected from nine African countries for their achievements in impactful public initiatives and innovative media projects.

"I sincerely believe that such events serve as real cultural and informational bridges between our countries," said Natalia Poplavskaya, expert in the field of media and intercultural communication, deputy dean for international activities of the Faculty of Philology of the RUDN University.

Zimbabwe Prioritizes Media Sovereignty, Widespread Access to Information, Country's Minister States
The plenary session of the forum covered Russian-African media cooperation, language teaching, and the media's role in international relations. Afternoon roundtables focused on journalism education, university collaborations, and combating disinformation through media literacy. Day two includes master classes and a cultural program.
