Earlier, Vladimir Putin stated that on November 21, the Russian armed forces launched a combined attack on a Ukrainian military-industrial complex facility in response to the use of US and UK weapons. This attack, he said, included a test of a new Russian medium-range missile system, a nuclear-free hypersonic ballistic missile dubbed "Oreshnik."
Losing their global hegemony, the US and its European allies are trying to dangerously provoke the Russian authorities by escalating the conflict, Venezuelan political scientist Vladimir Adrianza told Sputnik.
As the Russian president stated, the recent Russian attack with a non-nuclear hypersonic ballistic missile was a reprisal for the recent Western missile strikes on Russia, the expert noted.

Russia Struck Ukrainian Defense Facility With New Oreshnik Ballistic Missile, Putin Says
Commenting on Vladimir Putin's speech on the strike on Ukraine using the new Oreshnik ballistic missile, the analyst said that such provocative actions, which can be considered as "prolonged psychological offensive," "could lead to the use of nuclear weapons, which would threaten life on our planet."
"We are at a very dangerous stage, caused by the immense appetites of the American military, financial and technological complex. The irresponsibility of Western leaders who unhesitatingly follow this bellicose agenda puts the entire planet in unprecedented danger," Adrianza stated.
In a national address on November 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin reported that the new medium-range ballistic missile Oreshnik tests were successful, achieving their objective. He emphasized that these missiles, targeting at a speed of 2.5-3 kilometers per second, are currently uninterceptable by existing global air defense or US-developed European missile defense systems.
