TEHRAN (Sputnik) - The signing of a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement between Iran and Russia has been postponed due to the death of former president Ebrahim Raisi, and then due to the formation of the new government of President Pezeshkian, the ambassador said.
The Iranian side is working with Russia on the date of President Masoud Pezeshkian's visit to Moscow to sign an agreement on comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries, Iranian Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali told Sputnik.
"The exact date of the Iranian president's visit to Russia to sign a comprehensive agreement between the two countries has not yet been determined, but we are working with the Russian side so that we can find a suitable time for Masoud Pezeshkian's visit to Moscow," the Iranian diplomat said.
Tehran and Moscow have no problems in concluding an agreement on comprehensive strategic cooperation, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali added.

"There are no problems in concluding an agreement. The agreement has been prepared," he noted.

Now the new Iranian government has a serious intention to conclude all the previously prepared agreements with Moscow, the ambassador stressed.
