Senegal will hold snap legislative elections on Sunday, where citizens will elect 165 members of the National Assembly for a five-year term. Over seven million registered voters are eligible to cast their vote, with 41 political parties, coalitions or independent entities participating in the elections.Today's legislative election follows the dissolution of the previous assembly by Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye on September 12 after six months in office. According to the president, the opposition in the National Assembly (the unicameral parliament) is hindering the country's reform process.
