Africa is incredibly rich in natural resources, holding approximately 30% of the world's mineral reserves, 8% of global natural gas reserves, and 12% of global oil reserves. It also boasts 40% of the world's gold, as well as the largest reserves of cobalt, diamonds, platinum, and uranium, according to the UN Environment Program.
Niger invites Russian companies to explore and extract natural resources in the country, Niger's Mines Minister Ousmane Abarchi told Sputnik.
"We have already met with Russian companies that are interested in coming to Niger and exploring and extracting natural resources. And in this area, we are not only talking about uranium," Abarchi said.
