MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Sunday, the Washington Post and, later, Reuters claimed, citing anonymous sources, that Trump allegedly had a phone conversation with Putin.
There was no conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President-elect Donald Trump, and all reports about it are false, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
"This is the most obvious example of the quality of the information that is now being published, sometimes even in fairly reputable outlets. This is completely untrue. This is pure fiction. This is just false information," Peskov told reporters, answering a relevant question.
There are no concrete plans for any talks between Putin and Trump as of yet, the spokesman clarified. Peskov added that no preparations are underway for Russian President Vladimir Putin's contacts with Western leaders; Moscow has not received any signals for this yet.

Russia Not Against Resuming Contacts With Trump, Putin Says
In an interview with the ARD broadcaster released on Sunday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the "right time" for a phone conversation with Putin would come soon.

"There are no preparations underway right now; we have not received any signals," Peskov told reporters when asked whether preparations are underway for Putin’s negotiations with Scholz.
