DOHA (Sputnik) - On October 7, 2023, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. In response, the Israel Defense Forces launched Operation Iron Swords in the Gaza Strip and announced a complete blockade of the enclave.
The death toll from Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 43,600 since October 2023, the enclave's health ministry said on Sunday.
"Since October 7, 2023, the death toll from Israeli aggression has risen to 43,603 dead and 102,929 injured. The occupation army carried out three mass killings of families in the Gaza Strip in the last 24 hours, resulting in 51 deaths and 164 injuries," the ministry said in a statement.
Some victims remained trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings, with rescue teams and civil defense units unable to reach them, the statement said.
