Russia-Africa Ministerial Conference Holds Session on Fighting Western Media Propaganda

The First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum began its work on Saturday at the Sirius Federal Territory of Sirius University in Russia's southern city of Sochi.
Sputnik Africa is live as leaders of media, experts, politicians and Malian Foreign Minister Abdoulaye Diop gathered to take part in the session "Russia-Africa: In the Struggle for Truth" of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum's Ministerial Conference.
The panelists, joined by the Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, Sputnik's parent company Rossiya Segodnya media group's editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan and Nathalie Yamb, a Pan-Africanist, will discuss joint counteraction to Western propaganda and falsifications in the global information space, as well as strengthening the economic and political ties between Russia and Africa, based on the principles of modernization with reliance on their own strengths.
Fighting neocolonialism is a core part of Russia and African countries' foreign policy, the agenda of the discussion states. It's essential to oppose Western propaganda and falsifications in the global information space.
