CAR Interested in Creating BRICS Precious Metals Exchange, Russian Diplomat Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - BRICS is an intergovernmental organization established in 2006. Russia's 2024 presidency of BRICS began with the joining of new members. Adding to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, UAE and Saudi Arabia; the latter has not formalized membership but participates in BRICS meetings.
The Central African Republic is interested in Moscow's proposal to establish a BRICS precious metals exchange, Russian Charge d'Affaires to the Central African Republic Gennadiy Dominyak told Sputnik on the sidelines of the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in Russia's Sochi.
"The Central African Republic is particularly interested in Russia's proposal to establish a BRICS precious metals exchange," Dominyak said.

The Russian diplomat also said that the republic shared the core values of BRICS based on mutual respect and the sovereign equality of all states. At the moment, Bangui is set out to enhance cooperation with BRICS member states under the BRICS+ format, he added.
