US Citizen Martindale Confident Ukrainians Would Warmly Welcome Russian Troops
09:14 05.11.2024 (Updated: 14:34 05.11.2024) US citizen Daniel Martindale, who helped the Russian armed forces in Ukraine, told Sputnik that the Ukrainians would have likely welcomed Russian service people who liberated settlements during the special military operation.
I can't really comment. Because when I left, the Russians had just arrived. They basically crossed the front line to evacuate me. So I didn't get to see how my neighbors greeted the Russian troops. I believe that they would have greeted them very warmly. They would have thrown a party, giving them a great welcome. I think that's probably common all across Ukraine, Martindale said.
The Russian law enforcement agencies have told Sputnik that Russian service people, who were carrying out combat missions near the village of Bogoyavlenka (Bohoyavlenka) in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), had been withdrawn from the combat zone and taken to Donetsk by Martindale on October 27, 2024.
The US national had been present on the Ukrainian-controlled territory since February 11, 2022, the agencies said.
