The Interior Ministry of Tajikistan has proposed banning the Counter-Strike and Grand Theft Auto (GTA) video games because they contain scenes of violence. The ministry also asked computer club owners and parents to control children's access to games that contain scenes of violence and demonstrate antisocial behavior. The Tajik Culture Ministry said, in turn, that "these games contradict the country's cultural and moral norms, which negatively affects the behavior of young people."

Tajik Interior Ministry Proposes Banning Counter-Strike, GTA Video Games
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Counter-Strike is a series of multiplayer tactical shooter video games in which teams of terrorists battle to perpetrate an act of terror. Grand Theft Auto is an action-adventure video game where the player can complete missions to progress an overall story.
The Interior Ministry of Tajikistan has proposed banning the Counter-Strike and Grand Theft Auto (GTA) video games because they contain scenes of violence.
"The Interior Ministry will conduct inspections and raids to restrict access to violent video games, calling on computer club owners to restrict access to violent video games such as Counter-Strike and Grand Theft Auto," the ministry said on Thursday.
The ministry also asked
computer club owners and parents to control children's access to games that contain scenes of
violence and demonstrate antisocial behavior.
The Tajik Culture Ministry said, in turn, that "these games contradict the country's cultural and moral norms, which negatively affects the behavior of
young people."
