BEIRUT (Sputnik) - Since October 1, Israel has been conducting a ground operation against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon while continuing airstrikes. More than 1,500 citizens of the country died as a result of the attacks, the Lebanese Health Ministry said.
Israeli airstrikes on the Salibi farm and the Bednayel neighborhood in the eastern Lebanese city of Baalbek killed at least 19 people, the Lebanese Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center said.
"The Israeli enemy launched an airstrike on the Salibi farm in Baalbek, killing 11 people, including three women, and injuring three civilians," the center said in a statement.
Another strike hit the Bednayel neighborhood, the statement added. As a result, eight people were reportedly killed, including five women.
Earlier, an eyewitness told Sputnik that an Israeli airstrike hit a multistory apartment block in the southern Beirut suburb of Jnah on October 23, causing massive damage. Lebanese media reported that an Israeli jet launched a high-precision strike at what was presumably the location of an Islamic Resistance commander.
