Rossotrudnichestvo, with its missions known as the Russian Houses, is a leading Russian agency whose primary objective is to strengthen Russia’s humanitarian presence in the world. The organization is represented in 80 countries by 87 foreign missions.
Russian humanitarian cooperation agency Rossotrudnichestvo commissioned St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University LETI to implement a comprehensive program of events as a part of the "Days of Robotics and Innovative Educational Technologies" program for Zambian students, teachers, and lecturers with the goal of transferring innovative educational technologies and popularizing Russian science and education.
In his welcoming address, Zambian Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima expressed his hope that every programming and robotics course would bring Zambia closer to its vision of a technologically advanced future. He emphasized that the future of technological innovation in Zambia begins with inspiring young minds and expressed gratitude to the Russian side for organizing the event, hoping for more such collaborations in the future.
The Lusaka Robotics Days, taking place on October 29-31, feature an exposition of robotics systems and devices, interactive workshops on assembling and programming robots, lectures on technology applications, VR game development classes, and demonstrations of Russian educational and cultural VR projects.
Zambian students Mulinda and Mathius, both attending the Robotics Workshop at the National Institute of Public Administration (NIPA), expressed their appreciation for the enriching experience, which included hands-on learning with robots and VR technology. They both thanked the Russian House for organizing the event in their interview with Sputnik Africa.
On the first day alone, more than 300 people participated in the project events.
