The future Russian Orbital Station (ROS) may be equipped with robotic facilities similar to the ERA manipulator arm installed on the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), according to Vladimir Kozhevnikov, deputy general designer of the Energia rocket and space corporation, part of the Roscosmos. He recalled that neither Russia nor the Soviet Union had created such products, saying, "This is actually being done for the first time."Currently, the ISS is equipped with two robotic arms - the American segment has a Canadarm2 arm, while the Russian segment is equipped with a European Robotic Arm (ERA) manufactured by the European Space Agency.

According to the approved schedule, the station is expected to be deployed in near-polar orbit between 2027 and 2033. The project's estimated cost is 608.9 billion rubles ($62.2 billion), including 150 billion rubles ($15.3 billion) in the first three years. The launch of the station's science and power module is planned for the end of 2027.
The future Russian Orbital Station (ROS) may be equipped with robotic facilities similar to the ERA manipulator arm installed on the Russian segment of the International Space Station (ISS), according to Vladimir Kozhevnikov, deputy general designer of the
Energia rocket and space corporation, part of the Roscosmos.
"Now our plans are to develop robotic facilities that we will have on the [Russian orbital] station," Kozhevnikov said at a lecture titled "Creating the Russian Orbital Station" as part of the Science 0+ festival.
He recalled that neither Russia nor the Soviet Union had created
such products, saying,
"This is actually being done for the first time."Currently, the ISS is equipped with two robotic arms - the American segment has a Canadarm2 arm, while the Russian segment is equipped with a European Robotic Arm (ERA) manufactured by the European Space Agency.
