Almost two-thirds of Americans think that the United States could face violence after the November 5 presidential election, a new Scripps News/Ipsos poll revealed on Thursday. Sixty-two percent of respondents said that election-related violence in the country is "somewhat" or "very likely." Such concerns are higher among Democrats (70%) than Republicans (59%). People in the key battleground state of Wisconsin are more concerned about possible violence, with 72% believing that it is likely, it added. More than half of Americans, or 51%, would support using the military to prevent potential threats around Election Day, according to the survey. Seventy-seven percent said they are ready to accept the election results if their preferred candidate loses. The poll was conducted from October 18-20 among 1,028 adults.

According to the polls posted by Real Clear Politics, Harris leads by 1.7% nationwide.
