"Africa. Together Towards the Future" is a unique chance to get acquainted with the contemporary culture of the continent through cinema, photography, music, poetry and live communication with experts from Russia and Africa, the organizers say. It is supported by Russia's Culture Ministry and the embassies of Senegal, Burkina Faso and South Africa.
The second festival of African culture and films, "Africa. Together Towards the Future," opened in Moscow on Wednesday at the State Tretyakov Gallery.
The event symbolizes the strengthening of cultural ties between the continent and Russia, the cultural attache at the Burkina Faso Embassy in Russia told Sputnik Africa.

"That is why this festival is very important, in the sense that it allows the two peoples, the African and Russian people, to better face each other, to know each other better and to discover each other," Timbkieta Daniel Sawadogo emphasized.

Sawadogo is sure that mutual understanding of culture is a key to successful cooperation between the countries.
"And the best way to get to know each other is to master each other's culture," the diplomat said.
