Current President Azali Assoumani was re-elected for another five-year term in the same month.Assoumani has been in power since 1999, winning three subsequent elections.

Comoros parliamentary
elections are due to be held for January 12th, as per a decree published on Saturday.
The Indian Ocean archipelago of Comoros, with a population of around 800,000, last held parliamentary elections in January 2020. Current
