Guinea-Bissau’s Foreign Minister to Take Part in Russia-Africa Conference, Embassy Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - In mid-September, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum would take place in Sochi from November 9-10. It was earlier reported that foreign ministers of Guinea, Gambia, and Angola have already confirmed their participation.
Guinea-Bissau Foreign Minister Carlos Pinto Pereira is scheduled to participate in the November ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum in the Russian city of Sochi, the Russian Embassy in Guinea-Bissau told Sputnik.
"Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau Carlos Pinto Pereira is also scheduled to take part in the first ministerial conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum," the embassy’s statement said.
In May, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Guinea-Bissau counterpart Umaro Sissoco Embalo held talks in Moscow. The Russian leader said that Moscow hoped that Guinea-Bissau's foreign minister would participate in the upcoming ministerial conference.
