The Nord Stream pipelines, built to transport gas under the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany, were sabotaged by explosions in September 2022. Denmark, Germany, and Norway have excluded Russia from their investigation, prompting Moscow to launch its own inquiry into what it considers an act of international terrorism.
The terrorist attack on the Nord Stream gas pipelines must be thoroughly investigated and those responsible brought to justice, Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, said at the UN Security Council meeting.
"If you think that with your obstructionist actions you adiscourage us, reduce our resolve tto ensure that those responsible for explosions of the Nord Stream pipelines are identified and punished, then you are very much mistaken," Vasily Nebenzya said.
Nebenzya stated that any attempts to hinder the work of the Security Council on the Nord Stream attack only strengthen Russian determination to uncover the truth. He also noted that establishing the truth is essential for restoring constructive global interactions, which are particularly important to the Global South countries.
