MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The People's Republic of China was founded on October 1, 1949, after the Chinese Communist Party, led by Mao Zedong, won the Chinese Civil War against the Nationalist Kuomintang. This marked the establishment of a communist government and the start of significant social, economic, and political transformations in China.
Moscow values friendly relations with Beijing, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday, adding that mutual trade grows despite the difficult international situation.
"We value friendly, good neighborly relations with Beijing. Despite the difficult international situation, we have recently managed to achieve qualitative growth in trade and implement many large-scale bilateral projects in various areas," Putin said in a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 75th anniversary since the foundation of China.
The president also called interaction between Russia and China within the framework of the UN, BRICS, the SCO and other multilateral platforms fruitful and of great importance.
