MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Somalia faces significant security challenges, with ongoing conflicts involving al-Shabaab* militants, political instability, and periodic clan violence. Efforts by the government and international forces aim to improve stability, but challenges persist.
At least six people have been killed and 10 others injured in a series of bomb explosions in Somalia, the country's media reported.
The blasts occurred on Saturday night in the Somali capital city of Mogadishu and the neighboring region of Middle Shabelle, the Garowe Online news agency reported.
One of the bombs went off near a restaurant, which is said to be popular among government officials and is located next to the national theater and the presidential palace.
The motive for the attacks is not yet known.
