The UN is becoming increasingly powerless to ensure security in the Middle East, particularly in the Gaza Strip, Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Senegal Yassine Fall told French media.The minister also pointed out that African countries need to negotiate with the UN with a view to granting the continent permanent seats and veto power in the UN Security Council.In August, Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio announced a demand for Africa to be given two permanent and two non-permanent seats on the UN Security Council after the body was reformed. This measure would "correct a historical injustice and allow Africa to unleash its full potential as a dynamic, viable continent that can make a significant contribution to peace and security on the planet," the African leader noted.

The UN is becoming increasingly powerless to
ensure security in the Middle East, particularly in the Gaza Strip, Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Senegal Yassine Fall told French media.
"The genocide [of the Palestinians] continues, and this barbarity against Gaza must stop," Yassine Fall stated, adding that Senegal's support for the Palestinian people is now stronger than ever.
