ANKARA (Sputnik) - The Black Sea Grain Initiative, a UN- and Turkey-mediated deal allowing safe export of Ukrainian and Russian agricultural products, expired in July 2023. Russia refused to extend its participation, citing violations of the agreement's provisions for facilitating Russian grain and fertilizer exports.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in New York, US, during which he emphasized Ankara’s readiness to make efforts to renew the grain deal and establish a ceasefire in Ukraine, the Turkish presidential office said on Wednesday.
