Started on Tuesday, the Eastern Economic Forum will continue until Friday. The Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, on Russia's Pacific coast, is hosting it. The EEF 2024's general information partner is Sputnik news agency.
Russian nuclear agency Rosatom's extensive successful experience of working with foreign partners in the nuclear energy sector will help the state corporation in forming the international agenda in projects to develop the Northern Sea Route (NSR), said Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev.
At the session "The Northern Sea Route and its Logistics Capabilities" of the Eastern Economic Forum, Likhachev noted the specifics of Rosatom's work
with foreign partners in the field of nuclear energy.
"We always work with governments of the countries; we are always open to these contacts and transparent implementation of projects," Likhachev said. "Our task now is to direct all available resources, including those of a political and diplomatic nature, to the task of turning the NSR into a global transport artery."
This is a big task, the head of Rosatom added.
"Of course, we understand what difficulties and infrastructure risks there are here," Likhachev said. According to him, much still needs to be done to make the Northern Sea Route an attractive international transport route: "We have no other way; the task will be solved."
Rosatom is the infrastructure operator of the
Northern Sea Route.
