MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The issue of nuclear cooperation will be on the agenda of negotiations between the presidents of Russia, Turkey, and China, Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom head Alexey Likhachev said on Wednesday.
"In bilateral contacts, obviously, at a meeting with Turkish President Erdogan and with Chinese President Xi, our issues will be the focus of the business agenda," Likhachev told reporters.
Turkey is eager to put into operation the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP) as soon as possible, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday.

"We are here together now; this is a very important step. This concerns the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. We are building it together with Russia... We wish that we could put this nuclear power plant into operation in the shortest possible time," Erdogan said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Astana.

Erdogan added that he intends to take serious steps at the Sinop nuclear power plant.

"Ankara and Moscow are negotiating the construction of the Sinop nuclear power plant in Turkey. I believe that we can take serious steps in this direction," Erdogan said.
