It is important to encourage the younger generation to pursue education and training in Russia to become better citizens in the future, Dr. Nwana Sama Bernard, Chairman of Cameroon’s Upper Nun Valley Development Authority (UNVDA), told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the BRICS Municipal Forum in Moscow.Having graduated from a Russian university himself, Bernard strongly believes that Russia can play a significant role in training Cameroonian youth. He expressed confidence that collaboration with Russia and other BRICS countries will economically benefit Cameroon and the municipality in particular and underlined UNVDA's focus on rice production, using modern technology and equipment to improve cereal yields so that they "can grow economically."Additionally, Bernard mentioned a memorandum of understanding signed between Cameroon and Russia, which outlines close collaboration between their association and the forum.

Young Cameroonians Should Be Educated in Russia to Benefit Home Country, Agricultural Official Says
17:55 30.08.2024 (Updated: 18:05 30.08.2024) The International Municipal BRICS Forum took place in Moscow on August 27 and 28. It became an essential venue for exchanging experiences and ideas among BRICS regional and municipal government members, as well as for the development of effective business engagement with businesses.
It is important to encourage the younger generation to pursue education and training in Russia to become better citizens in the future, Dr. Nwana Sama Bernard, Chairman of Cameroon’s Upper Nun Valley Development Authority (UNVDA), told Sputnik Africa on the sidelines of the BRICS Municipal Forum in Moscow.
"We are encouraging the younger ones to follow up and to get a good education and good training from Russia that will make them become better Cameroonians tomorrow, in the future," he explained.
Having graduated from a Russian university himself, Bernard strongly believes that Russia can play a
significant role in training Cameroonian youth.
"We think that Moscow can do so many good things for us, so many wise things politically, economically, and we are relying on Moscow for so many things. [...] the Russian method of training, we count on that. We already see that yielding fruits. We are also very happy to see that the Russians are ready to help us," he highlighted.
He expressed confidence that collaboration with Russia and other BRICS countries will economically
benefit Cameroon and the municipality in particular and underlined UNVDA's focus on rice production, using modern technology and equipment to improve cereal yields so that they "can grow economically."
Additionally, Bernard mentioned a memorandum of understanding signed between Cameroon and Russia, which outlines close collaboration between their association and the forum.
"We are going to follow up really keenly on the terms of this forum, of this memorandum, and we have to put it into practice as soon as possible," he concluded.
