Chilling Crimes Unveiled: Homicides and Ritual Killing Shock Tanzania
13:59 25.08.2024 (Updated: 17:27 26.08.2024) One of Tanzania's most shocking cases involves the brutal killings of individuals with albinism, fueled by the belief that their body parts bring wealth and fortune. A notable case is Pendo Emmanuel Nundi, a young girl abducted and murdered in 2015, with her limbs severed for use in traditional medicine rituals.
The Tanzania Police Force reported two homicides and one ritual killing in the Singida, Dar es Salaam, and Tanga regions. These revelations,
announced by police spokesperson David Misime, follow the country's opposition party Chadema's urgent call for a judicial inquiry into the rising cases of missing persons and abductions.
In Chalunyangu Village, Singida District, Samwaja Sifael Said, 22, went missing on August 8, 2024. His body was later found buried, with his private parts missing. Three suspects, including a witch doctor, have
confessed to the crime and said that a promise of wealth served as their driving force.
In Dar es Salaam, Abdallah Miraji Mussa was arrested for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Ezenia Stanley Kamana. Kamana had been
reported missing, and her dismembered body was found in bags. The suspect confessed to the crime and led police to additional remains.
In Tanga Region, Jackson Elisante Maenda was arrested for allegedly killing a 3-year-old child, Elia Elifaza Raymond Mchome. The suspect initially misled police but later admitted to burying the child in his bedroom. Other suspects are also being questioned in connection with this incident.
