The recent opening of the Gwebi River Bridge and a 4km stretch of road along Old Mazowe Road exemplifies the progress being made.This infrastructure development, encompassing roads, clinics, schools, and dams like the Muchekeranwa dam in Chivhu, aligns with Vision 2030, the country's long-term strategy to become an empowered upper-middle-income society. This progress is also reflected in the National Development Strategy 1, which prioritizes utilities and infrastructure.He further emphasized the creation of thousands of jobs through these projects, acknowledging the vital role of local materials and Zimbabwean engineers in the construction process.Dr. Muswere added, "When we are analyzing the roads and infrastructure that have been developed within this space of time, you also come to realize that thousands of jobs have been created."

In 2019, the government of Zimbabwe, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, launched Vision 2030, an ambitious national development strategy that aims to transform the country into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. The plan focuses on sustainable growth, social equity, and inclusive prosperity.
Under President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe has made significant strides in infrastructure development, exceeding 7,000
completed projects since 2017, according to Information Minister Dr. Jenfan Muswere. The recent opening of the Gwebi River Bridge and a 4km stretch of road along Old Mazowe Road exemplifies the progress being made.
This infrastructure
development, encompassing roads, clinics, schools, and dams like the Muchekeranwa dam in Chivhu, aligns with Vision 2030, the country's long-term strategy to become an empowered upper-middle-income society. This progress is also reflected in the National Development Strategy 1, which prioritizes utilities and infrastructure.
"What is of great importance is that so much has been achieved within a short space of time," he said. "We leave no one and no place behind."
He further emphasized the creation of thousands of jobs through these projects, acknowledging the vital role of local materials and Zimbabwean engineers in the construction process.
Dr. Muswere added, "When we are analyzing the roads and infrastructure that have been developed within this space of time, you also come to realize that
thousands of jobs have been created."
"The funding mechanism is also being domesticated, and at the same time, the human capital development aspect, which is very critical in terms of our Vision 2030, has ensured that as Zimbabweans, we have sharpened our national strategic thinking and technical and intellectual expertise such that we can build roads anywhere in the world," the minister said.
