South African police special unit Hawks has located the meth lab on a farm in Groblersdal, Limpopo province, which contained chemicals with an estimated street value of 2 billion rand ($109.5 million), the police's media statement said.Four suspects, including two Mexican citizens, were arrested. It remains unclear if the drugs were meant for local distribution or export.Since January, the South African Police Service's Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), also referred to as the Hawks, has found ten clandestine drug labs and arrested 34 people. The special police unit may arrest more suspects, the statement added.The Hawks is the branch that looks into organized crime, economic crime, corruption, and other major crimes that the president or another police division refers to for investigation.

South African police special unit Hawks has located the meth lab on a farm in Groblersdal, Limpopo province, which
contained chemicals with an estimated street value of 2 billion rand ($109.5 million), the police's
media statement said.
Four suspects, including two Mexican citizens, were arrested.
"Whilst the investigation continues, the arrested suspects will make their first appearance in the Groblersdal Magistrate’s court on the 22 July 2024 on charges of manufacturing, dealing, and possession of illicit drugs," the statement read.
It remains unclear if the
drugs were meant for local distribution or export.
