Russian air defense systems have shot down two ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles over the Kherson region after Ukraine attempted to attack Crimea, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo said on Sunday, adding that no casualties were reported. At the end of June, Ukrainian troops targeted Sevastopol, the chief city on the Crimean Peninsula, using ATACMS missiles with cluster warheads supplied by the United States. While four of these missiles were intercepted and destroyed, one was deflected and exploded over the city. The attack resulted in the deaths of four people and injured 153 others, including children. Russia claims that the US provided Ukraine with intelligence and targeting information to carry out the strike.Independent US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. subsequently stated that this attack amounts to terrorism and an act of war by the United States.

09:16 21.07.2024 (Updated: 16:27 22.07.2024) MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier on Tuesday, Russian air defense systems successfully intercepted a host of Ukrainian jets, missiles and drones, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Russian air defense systems have shot down two ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles over the Kherson region after Ukraine attempted to attack
Crimea, Kherson Region Governor Vladimir Saldo said on Sunday, adding that no casualties were reported.
"Russian air defense shot down two high-precision ATACMS missiles in the morning in the sky over the Kherson region. The enemy tried to attack Crimea. Shell fragments fell far from settlements; there were no casualties. There was also no infrastructure damage reported," Saldo said on Telegram.
At the end of June, Ukrainian troops targeted Sevastopol, the chief city on the Crimean Peninsula, using ATACMS missiles with cluster warheads supplied by the
United States. While four of these missiles were intercepted and destroyed, one was deflected and exploded over the city.
The attack resulted in the deaths of four people and injured 153 others, including children. Russia claims that the US provided Ukraine with intelligence and targeting information to carry out the strike.
Independent US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. subsequently stated that this attack amounts to terrorism and an act of war by the United States.
