BEIJING (Sputnik) - With Taiwan nearby, the South China Sea is a region of ever-increasing geopolitical tension.
China is conducting military drills in the South China Sea on July 15-16, the China Maritime Safety Administration said on Monday.
The exercises take place in the waters of the South China Sea from 9:00 a.m. local time (01:00 GMT) on Monday and will run through 7:00 p.m. (11:00 GMT) on July 16, the administration said in a statement.
