Russia, Mozambique Discuss Activation of Cooperation in Power Industry

Last year, Russian construction company Inter RAO and Electricidade de Mozambique signed an agreement to build the 120 MW Lurio-2 hydropower plant in Mozambique, according to the Russian Energy Ministry.
The head of the Russian Federal Agency for Mineral Resources (Rosnedra), Evgeny Petrov, and the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources of Mozambique, Carlos Mesquita, discussed during a working meeting the activation of cooperation between the Russian hydroelectric company RusHydro and the Mozambican government in the power industry, the Russian agency reported.

"At the meeting, they discussed issues of activating the interaction of the RusHydro Group with the government of the Republic of Mozambique, as well as state organizations and specialized companies in the electric power industry," Rosnedra said in a statement.
