US military forces have completely withdrawn from Air Base 101 in Niger, near the airport of the capital Niamey, a Sputnik Africa correspondent reported.The handover ceremony for Air Base 101 took place on Sunday evening. The transfer of the site to the Nigerien authorities was signed by Niger's Chief of Staff, Mamane Sani Kiaou, and US General Kenneth Ekman.US Ambassador Kathleen FitzGibbon was also present, as were a number of Nigerien military officials.The Americans also plan to organize the withdrawal of Agadez Air Base 201 by September 15.
