Indian Prime Minister Modi Will Pay Official Visit to Russia on July 8-9, Kremlin Says

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Indian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Modi will make a visit to the Russian capital, followed by a trip to Austria.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Russia on July 8-9, the Kremlin said on Thursday.

"On July 8-9, the official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia will take place," the statement said.

The prospects for the further development of traditionally friendly Russian-Indian relations, as well as topical issues on the international and regional agenda, will be discussed, the statement said.

"Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will pay an Official Visit to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Austria on 08-10 July 2024. Prime Minister will be in Moscow on 08-09 July 2024 at the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation, H.E. Mr. Vladimir Putin, to hold the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit. The leaders will review the entire range of multifaceted relations between the two countries and exchange views on contemporary regional and global issues of mutual interest," the Indian ministry said in a statement.

Modi's last visit to Russia took place in 2019, when he participated in the 20th India – Russia Annual Summit as well as the 5th Eastern Economic Forum, both of which were held in the far-eastern port city of Vladivostok. His last visit to the Russian capital was in 2015.
