MOSCOW (Sputnik) - On Thursday, Russian air defense systems destroyed seven Ukrainian drones over three Russian regions, as reported by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Over the past night, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 25 Ukrainian drones over five regions, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

“During the past night, when the Kiev regime tried to carry out terrorist attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Russian Federation, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 12 UAVs over the territory of the Bryansk Region, destroyed nine UAVs over the Smolensk Region, destroyed one UAV in the Voronezh Region, destroyed two UAVs in the Kursk Region, and intercepted one UAV in the Rostov Region,” the ministry said.

Last week, Russian air defense systems destroyed 15 Ukrainian drones across six different regions, as reported by the Defense Ministry. Earlier this month, Ukrainian shelling in the town of Shebekino, located in Russia's Belgorod Region, resulted in six civilians sustaining injuries.
Since launching a counteroffensive in early June of last year, Ukraine has regularly deployed drones and missiles into Russian territory. Following an unsuccessful drone strike on Moscow last August, the UN stated that it opposed any targeting of civilian infrastructure.
