Russian Ministry of Economic Development to Present to Tour Operators New Tourist Routes in Tanzania
18:58 14.06.2024 (Updated: 10:16 17.06.2024) In February, Tanzania’s Ambassador to Russia, Fredrick Ibrahim Kibuta, told the media that it was planned to launch direct flights between Russia and Tanzania.
Russia's Ministry of Economic Development will present to the country's tour operators new tourist routes in Tanzania and believes that this will become the basis for launching
charter flights."The potential of tourism between our countries is high, but it is necessary to promote ourselves more actively and, at the same time, create a new standard of recreation for Russians with an affordable cost of tourist products," the ministry noted, citing Nikita Kondratiev, Director of the ministry's Department for Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects.
According to him, Russians are already willing to
travel to African countries, but so far they choose destinations promoted on the Russian market, such as Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, or Seychelles.
In 2023, Russian tourists made 1.3 million trips to African countries, which is 1.4 times more than in 2022.
The ministry's statement came after Tanzania's ambassador to Russia, Fredrick Ibrahim Kibuta, announced in February that Russia and Tanzania were planning to launch
direct flights.
