Niger is ready to host a full-fledged Russian military base on the territory of the country, Honorary Consul of Russia in the African Republic Addo Iro told Russian media.Last Saturday, the United States and Niger announced the beginning of the withdrawal of US troops from the African country. An agreement on the withdrawal of the US contingent was reached in mid-May. Before the coup last year, which resulted in the ousting of Niger's President Mohamed Bazoum by the head of the presidential guard, Abdourahamane Tiani, US military personnel were providing training and intelligence support to the republic's troops.In March, Niger terminated a military agreement with the United States, according to which a US UAV base had been established in the north of the African country.
