CONAKRY, Guinea (Sputnik) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived on a working visit to Guinea’s capital Conakry, where he is scheduled to meet with the country's leadership, a Sputnik correspondent reports.
This will be his sixth visit to the African continent in the past two years.
The Minister traveled to Egypt, Ethiopia, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo in July 2022.
He visited Sudan, Mali, Mauritania, and South Africa in February 2023, after visiting South Africa, Eswatini, Angola, and Eritrea in January.
The minister's last trip to Africa took place in August 2023, when he traveled to South Africa for the BRICS summit, having previously visited Kenya, Burundi, Mozambique, and South Africa in late May and early June.

The Minister's most recent visit to Guinea took place in 2013. The Minister is anticipated to engage in bilateral contacts while on this visit.
