In March, the Russian government officially announced its approval of a draft agreement on military cooperation with the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Russia is committed to political dialogue and UN collaboration with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Russia's foreign ministry stated. The dedication was affirmed by Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian President’s Special Representative for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister, along with Ivan Vangu Ngimbi, the Ambassador of the DCR.
During the meeting initiated by Ngimbi, the parties also explored additional collaboration opportunities in trade, economics, investment, and humanitarian areas.

"The commitment of Moscow and Kinshasa to deepen political dialogue and coordinate approaches at the UN and other international platforms on mutually interesting international and African agendas has been confirmed," reads a press release on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website.
