Putin Says Most Russian Defense Firms Execute State Contracts on Time
KOROLYOV, Russia (Sputnik) - The majority of Russian defense firms execute state defense orders on time even as the volumes increase, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday.
"The majority of enterprises fulfill the tasks of the state defense order on time, and for a number of items even ahead of schedule," Putin said at a meeting with the leadership of Russian defense industry enterprises.
Production volumes in the defense industry have
increased over the past two years, including more than a 22-fold increase in missile and artillery weaponry, 15-fold in electronic warfare and 14-fold in ammunition, the president said.
"This is a good pace, a large volume. I would like to thank you and your teams for tackling such tasks, large-scale tasks," he added.
It is important that the industry continues to increase the steady supply of the Russian armed forces with modern high-tech weapons and
equipment, including unmanned, aviation and ground-based systems, high-precision weapons, and electronic warfare equipment, Putin said.
