What You Need to Know About Helicopter Crash That Claimed Life of Iranian President

A helicopter crash on May 19 killed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his delegation, including Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. They were heading home from a meeting with Azerbaijani President Aliyev at the border between the two countries, where the opening ceremony of a new hydroelectric power station took place.
Numerous global leaders, including Russian and Chinese presidents, expressed their sympathies to the people of Iran and to the families of the deceased. A day of mourning was announced by many Muslim nations in solidarity.
On Tuesday, Iranians bid farewell to the late president in the country's town of Tabriz near the helicopter crash site. Following the funeral ceremony, Rasi's body is to be taken to his hometown of Mashhad for burial.
