In March, Kenya's National Treasury & Economic Planning upgraded the country's economic growth forecast for 2024, noting that Kenya's economy is expected to increase by 6.3% this year. In February, economic growth at 5.5% was projected for 2024.
Kenyan economy experienced a growth of 5.6% in 2023, up from the revised 4.9% recorded in the previous year, according to Kenya Economic Survey Report 2024.
The agriculture, forestry and fishing sectors of the Kenyan economy increased by 6.5%, as per the report.

Tourism, a significant industry, also experienced growth, as visitor arrivals exceeded the yearly pre-pandemic level of 2.035 million, reaching 2.087 million visitors last year, Macdonald Obudho, the head of the country's statistics office, told an event to launch the economic growth report.
Kenya's National Treasury & Economic Planning revised its economic growth forecast for 2024 in March, predicting that the country's economy will grow by 6.3% instead of the 5.5% projected in February.
