Uganda is negotiating with China's Sinohydro company to construct a power line that would allow exporting power to South Sudan, the media reported.Within the initiative, a 138-kilometer high-voltage transmission line to South Sudan will be built, it is also planned to expand two existing substations and construct a new one, as per the media.The project was reportedly backed by President of the East African country Yoweri Museveni.The talks took place after a power sales agreement was inked last June between Uganda and South Sudan.It is planned to export electricity to South Sudan from a $1.5 million-worth 600-megawatt hydropower plant on the River Nile, which is being completed by Sinohydro.

Uganda is negotiating with China's Sinohydro company to construct a power line that would allow exporting power to South Sudan, the media reported.
Within the initiative, a 138-kilometer high-voltage transmission line to South Sudan will be built, it is also planned to expand two existing substations and construct a new one, as per the media.
"We are very much willing to help develop this project with the required finance if needed," Yang Yi Xin, Sinohydro Corporation's vice president, was cited as saying at the meeting with Uganda's leader.
The project was reportedly backed by President of the East African country
Yoweri Museveni.
The talks took place after a power sales agreement was inked last June between Uganda and South Sudan.
It is planned to export electricity to South Sudan from a $1.5 million-worth 600-megawatt hydropower plant on the River Nile, which is being completed by Sinohydro.
