Mauritius is determined to strengthen friendship with Moscow despite Western pressure, Russian Ambassador to the country Konstantin Klimovsky told Russian media.Mauritius is currently working on the introduction of Russian Mir payment cards, the diplomat revealed.However, it's too early to say whether it will be possible to pay with Mir cards there as early as 2024, he said. Mauritius is determined to strengthen friendship with Moscow despite Western pressure, Russian Ambassador to the country Konstantin Klimovsky told Russian media.
"Despite the pressure from the collective West, Mauritius is still determined to actively develop bilateral cooperation based on the traditional friendly relations between our countries," ha said.
Mauritius is currently working on the introduction of
Russian Mir payment cards, the diplomat revealed.
"The Mauritian authorities really have such plans," he noted.
However, it's too early to say whether it will be possible to pay with
Mir cards there as early as 2024, he said. Currently, the card is accepted in nine countries, but in six of them its operations are limited.
