DPR Head Says Kiev's Crimes to Be Investigated

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Head Denis Pushilin told Sputnik that the war crimes of Ukraine, including in the city of Avdeyevka, will be investigated, and even though the "real culprits" are out of reach at the moment, they will still be punished.
"We have received this data [on Ukrainian war crimes] for [the cities of] Mariupol and Volnovakha. At this stage, we are also receiving such data on Avdeyevka. We do not need to publish all the information, because criminal cases are being opened, but there is an understanding that the real culprits are now beyond our reach. Cases are being opened, cases are being investigated, and everything is being compiled into an evidence base, because these are war crimes that have no statute of limitations," Pushilin said in an interview released on Saturday.
Russian law enforcement agencies and investigators are working on cases of Ukrainian war crimes and mass graves of civilians with signs of torture that were discovered in the Donbas region, Pushilin said.
"Now operational work is being carried out, investigative measures are underway, more detailed information will be available later," Pushilin noted.
