According to a document published on Sunday on Russia's official Internet portal of legal information, the agreement was signed in St. Petersburg on April 24, 2024, and began to be implemented on May 5.
The governments of Russia and the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe have signed an agreement on military cooperation.
"The present agreement is concluded for an indefinite period of time," the text of the agreement reads.
The agreement states that the two sides have agreed to cooperate in the following areas: joint training of troops, recruitment of armed forces, use of weapons and military equipment, logistics, exchange of experience and information in the framework of countering the ideology of extremism and international terrorism, education and training of personnel.

Sao Tome and Principe Joins Other African Nations in Pursuing Reparations From Former Oppressors
In addition, the agreement between the two countries provides for participation in military exercises and presence at them as observers, visits of military aviation, as well as visits of warships and vessels.
The document notes that military cooperation between the countries "contributes to strengthening peace and international stability."
