The ministry quoted Shoigu as instructing the military leadership to make efforts for speeding up repairs of military equipment in the Ukraine conflict zone and expanding the reserve of spare parts.
Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said later in the day that Russian plants "today are producing mighty weapons," which make Russia's enemies shiver.
"With that, the weapons that we are producing are not instead of but in addition to everything that our country needs for a prosperous life," he said on Russian social media platform VK.
