The first African-Russian international conference on the fight against infectious diseases will be held on April 17-19 in Uganda, the Russian delegation will be headed by the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, the press service reported.Conference participants will discuss the latest advances in the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, modern threats and challenges to biological safety, as well as exchange experiences and develop joint strategies, the department explained. Particular attention is planned to be paid to such pressing issues as the experience of combating the COVID-19 pandemic, effective vaccination methods, diagnosis and treatment of various types of infectious diseases, as well as strategic directions for the development of science and technology to counter biological threats in African countries, Rospotrebnadzor noted.
