Turkish President Calls on Islamic World to Step Up Efforts to Stop Gaza Conflict
MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Earlier in March, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused the Islamic world that it has failed to fulfill its "brotherly duty" before the people of Palestine.
Turkish President
Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation with Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, during which the Turkish leader urged the Islamic world to increase its efforts to stop the Gaza conflict, Erdogan’s office said.
"President Erdogan stressed that the Islamic world should increase its efforts in unity to stop Israel’s brutal attacks and hold Israel to account for its crimes against humanity. President Erdogan stated that it is of vital importance to immediately restrain Israel and act with common sense in order to prevent the tension from spreading across the region," the office said on X on Monday.
The leaders also discussed the humanitarian situation in the
enclave, as well as bilateral relations, the office added.
