MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Ukraine is using initiatives such as a ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict for the period of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris to try to regroup its troops and rearm, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.
On March 16, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Paris would propose a ceasefire in the Ukraine conflict for the time of the Olympics that will take place from July 26 to August 11.

"[Moscow repeatedly] drew attention to the fact that, as a rule, the Kiev regime uses such ideas and such initiatives to try to regroup, to try to rearm, and so on and so forth. This, of course, significantly complicates the process of considering such initiatives. This is the first. Well, then, so far no one has taken any official steps in this regard," Peskov told reporters.
